The Prime Minister's National Relief Fund (PMNRF) provides financial assistance to people affected by natural disasters, accidents and medical emergencies. It operates entirely on voluntary donations.
PMNRF was established in 1948 by Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru to help displaced people from Pakistan. Now it also provides assistance for natural disasters and medical needs.
