1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using the Word Chain mobile application (“the App”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the App.
2. Description of Service
Word Chain is a single-player word puzzle game. The App provides word chain puzzles (also known as word ladders), a daily challenge, level progression, a hint system, and optional in-app purchases. The App operates entirely on your device with no requirement for account creation.
3. Eligibility
The App is available to users of all ages. There is no age restriction for using the App. The App does not require or collect personal information from any user.
4. In-App Purchases
The App offers optional in-app purchases through Google Play Billing:
- Coin Packs (consumable): In-game currency used to purchase hints during gameplay. These are consumed upon use and can be repurchased.
- Remove Ads (non-consumable): A one-time purchase that permanently removes banner advertisements from the App.
All purchases are processed by Google Play and are subject to Google Play’s own terms of service. Prices are displayed in your local currency and may vary by region. We do not process or store any payment information.
Refund Policy: All in-app purchases are final. Refunds are handled according to Google Play’s refund policy. You may request a refund through Google Play within 48 hours of purchase.
5. Virtual Goods
Coins and other virtual goods within the App have no real-world value and cannot be exchanged for real money, goods, or services. Virtual goods are stored locally on your device and will be lost if you clear the App’s data or uninstall the App. The “Remove Ads” purchase status is linked to your Google Play account and can be restored via the “Restore Purchases” feature.
6. Advertising
The App displays advertisements powered by Google AdMob. Advertisements are clearly labeled and include:
- Banner ads: Displayed at the bottom of certain screens. These are permanently removed with the “Remove Ads” purchase.
- Rewarded video ads: Shown only when you explicitly choose to watch one in the Coin Shop to earn bonus coins. These are always optional.
We do not control the content of third-party advertisements. Ad content is served by Google’s ad network and is subject to Google’s advertising policies.
7. User Conduct
You agree not to:
- Use the App for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
- Use automated tools or bots to interact with the App
- Interfere with or disrupt the App’s functionality
- Transmit any harmful or malicious code through the App
8. Intellectual Property
The App, including its design, code, graphics, sound effects, and content, is the intellectual property of the developer. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on the App.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
The App is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be error-free, uninterrupted, or free of harmful components.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the App. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App (which, for the free version, is zero).
11. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Use at any time. Changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. We will notify users of material changes through the App or the Google Play Store listing.
12. Termination
We may terminate or suspend your access to the App at any time, without prior notice, for conduct that we determine violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, third parties, or the business interests of the App.
13. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of your jurisdiction, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the App shall be resolved in the competent courts of your jurisdiction.
