Mukhyamantri Nishulk Dawa Yojna (MNDY)

Through the scheme, medicines listed in the essential medicine list are provided free of charge to all inpatients and outpatients visiting government hospitals. This initiative was launched by the Rajasthan government on October 2, 2011. As part of the scheme, 40 district medicine stores have been established at district headquarters to ensure the distribution of medicines across all medical institutions.

Under the Mukhyamantri Nishulk Dawa Yojna, the essential medicine list for 2018-19 initially included 608 medicines, 147 surgical items, and 77 sutures, totaling 832 items. This has since been expanded to include 1,331 medicines, 956 surgical items, and 185 sutures, making a total of 2,472 items.

The number of medicines, surgical items, and sutures provided under the scheme has also been significantly increased across various healthcare facilities. In medical institutions affiliated with medical colleges, the number has risen from 832 to 2,472; in district, satellite, and sub-district hospitals, from 741 to 1,323; in community health centers, from 568 to 790; in primary health centers, from 319 to 551; and in sub-centers, from 33 to 50. Additionally, 121 medicines have been included specifically for Health and Wellness Centers.

To implement the scheme effectively, an advanced inventory management system named e-Aushadhi has been developed.
